According to the Mandaean account preserved in canonical texts and summarized in modern scholarship, the creator-uthra Ptahil (son of Abatur) fashioned the bodily Adam from clay and elemental matter with the assistance of the Seven Planets and the Twelve Zodiacs. The female figure Ruha aided Ptahil and is credited with giving the created body its spirit; thereafter World of Light beings — notably Manda d-Hayyi and Hibil — bestowed the heavenly soul (Adam Kasia) upon that body. Hawa (Eve) is subsequently created as a companion for the bodily Adam. This sequence situates Adam Pagria as a product of demiurgic and planetary activity within the created world (Tibil) and as the locus that receives the soul from superior light-beings.
Sources do not provide a fixed anthropomorphic portrait of Adam Pagria as an individuated figure. Rather, Adam Pagria is conceptually described as the bodily or fleshly Adam — the corporeal template of all human bodies — fashioned from clay and other elemental substances by Ptahil with planetary and zodiacal helpers, and paired with Hawa as companion. Thus descriptions emphasize material composition and ontological role (the physical human body) rather than visual or phenotypic detail; existing narrative passages present Adam primarily as the created fleshly counterpart to the celestial Adam (Adam Kasia).
Adam Pagria is not depicted as an independent supernatural agent so much as the foundational material principle of humanity: the receptacle and locus for spirit and soul. His 'abilities' in the mythic scheme are therefore passive/ontological — to be fashioned by Ptahil and the astral powers, to receive spirit (through Ruha) and soul (from Manda d-Hayyi and Hibil) — rather than active feats. Because the body is produced with assistance from planetary and zodiacal powers and Ruha, Adam Pagria is portrayed as enmeshed in the created, planet-bound order that Mandaean salvation seeks to overcome by revelation and the intervention of World of Light beings.
