Sources identify Albert as Death's butler/attendant within the Discworld texts and companion materials. The supplied material does not record a mythic origin, supernatural birth, or explicit immortal status for Albert; he is presented in the sources as a human figure attached to Death's household rather than as an independent metaphysical being.
The provided sources give only sparse physical description. Albert is presented as a human male who performs attendant and butler duties for Death. A quoted passage records his understated nodding manner—'Albert nodded, not in any subservient way'—but no detailed description of clothing, stature, age, or distinguishing features is documented in the supplied material.
Within the documented sources Albert's role is behavioral and social rather than supernatural: he acts as Death's butler/attendant, accompanies Death in narrative scenes, and appears in plot events (for example timeline entries noting he 'returns to UU and meets Rincewind and Librarian'). The sources do not attribute explicit magical powers, immortality, or metaphysical abilities to Albert. He is also recorded as appearing in the computer game Discworld II: Missing Presumed...!? (voiced by Nigel Planer).
