Michael Korvac is a fictional human technician from the alternate-future Earth-691 in Marvel Comics who is transformed from a cyborg into a near-godlike figure after analyzing Elders' power and absorbing the Power Cosmic. His story centers on attempts to reshape worlds, conflicts with cosmic beings and Earth’s heroes, and a climactic act that restores life as he dies.

Origin

Michael Korvac begins as a computer technician on the alternate future Earth-691 (AD 3007) during Badoon conquest. Caught asleep at a machine, he is punished by the Badoon with his upper body grafted to machinery, becoming a cyborg. He later clandestinely analyzes the Grandmaster’s power, kills his Badoon masters, attempts to download knowledge from Galactus’s station, and is ultimately imbued with the Power Cosmic, transforming into a godlike being who travels to Earth-616 to pursue grand designs.

Appearance

Korvac's appearance changes across his narrative: originally presented as a human with his upper body grafted to machines (a cyborg), and after acquiring cosmic power he recreates himself as a perfected humanoid form. In that later guise he poses as an unassuming human called 'Michael' living in a suburban Forest Hills Gardens, Queens neighborhood alongside his partner Carina. The provided sources emphasize the transformation from machine-grafted cyborg to flawless humanoid rather than specific costume or color details.

Abilities

Korvac's abilities derive from a combination of technological augmentation and later absorption of cosmic power. As a cyborg he has machine grafting and technological integration; after scanning and analyzing the Grandmaster and attempting to download knowledge from Galactus's station he gains additional capacities and is imbued with the Power Cosmic. In the Korvac Saga he slays many powerful heroes, disintegrates and recreates beings (for example Starhawk), can restore life in his final act, conducts time/space travel between Earth-691 and Earth-616, and carries out strategic deception and recruitment (posing as 'Michael', recruiting allies such as the Minions of Menace). His agency and motives are shown as complex—both antagonistic and, by some accounts in-story, aimed at remaking humanity into a utopia.
