Synty (Finnish)

Synty is a concept used to explain the origin of various phenomena and materials in Finnish mythology.

There is no physical description of Synty as it is an abstract idea, not a tangible entity.

Syntysanat or syntyloitsut were used for healing and explanation of natural phenomena. They provided mythical accounts for the origin of various materials and species, playing an important role in Finno-Karelian culture, particularly in healing rituals.
