Tufi (Tufi Fjords)

Tufi is a coastal town set among multiple drowned river valleys (described in tourism sources as fjords or fiords) on the south-eastern peninsula of Cape Nelson in Oro Province, Papua New Guinea. The area is regionally significant for its distinctive tropical fjord-like rias, marine biodiversity as part of the Coral Triangle region, and local cultural production of tapa cloth. Modern references emphasize diving and eco-tourism infrastructure such as the Tufi Dive Resort, guesthouses, and occasional liveaboard and yacht visits. The provided sources are tourism and general-reference materials and do not supply detailed historical chronology, construction dates, or accounts of notable historic incidents. Reported paranormal phenomena and named supernatural entities are absent from the available source set. No traditions, investigative reports, or oral histories citing hauntings, apparitions, curses, or other supernatural activity are documented in the supplied materials. Explanations and significance in the sources are framed in geological, ecological, and cultural terms rather than supernatural ones.
