Descriptions vary across adaptations; the comics present Alberto as a human adult male of Falcone lineage with a background of formal education. In the Long Halloween storyline he is at one point badly disfigured (a corpse believed to be his is recovered in one account), later revealed alive but physically battered by Batman to the point of losing feeling in one arm and with his right arm disfigured. Media portrayals differ (animated voice actors and live-action actors have depicted him), with some adaptations showing him as drug-addicted or killed early in the story.

Alberto is a skilled marksman and an experienced mobster whose primary criminal behavior in the comics is serial homicide committed as the Holiday Killer.
