Within Marvel Comics continuity, a set of hawk-themed amulets were commissioned by the alien crime lord Dargin Bokk; five original amulets were created and a sixth was later made. One such amulet came into the possession of Christopher Powell in Queens, New York, who discovered it at an abandoned amusement park. Activating the amulet swaps the human wearer with a preexisting android battle-suit stored and repaired aboard a starship in a dimension called Null Space, allowing the human mind to directly control the android body.
The android/body known as Darkhawk appears as a hawk-themed armored figure with a helmet shaped with a hawkish profile. The suit includes wings that deploy for flight and hawk-claw grapple weapons; overall it is presented and described in sources as a powerful android battle-suit rather than mere clothing or a costume, with reconfigurable visual features according to creator commentary.
Functionally the construct enables mind-transfer: when the amulet is activated the human occupant swaps places with the android in Null Space and the human consciousness controls the android body. In combat the android demonstrates substantial physical power, flight via pop-out wings, and claw-like grapple weapons; it has engaged and defeated major opponents in Marvel stories (for example, delivering a decisive blow against Ultron in one account). The psychology of the human operator affects behavior while occupying the body—Christopher Powell experienced difficulty controlling anger and violent impulses while in Darkhawk form, which produced narrative consequences including personal crises and temporary renunciation of the amulet.

Djinn
The class of supernatural beings created from smokeless fire in Islamic cosmology — a parallel civilization to humanity, capable of belief or unbelief, with their own prophets, society, and judgment before God.

Jann
The weakest class of djinn in Islamic tradition, associated with desert winds and taking the form of snakes or whirlwinds, dwelling in empty wilderness and posing little threat to those who know the proper invocations.

Marid
The most powerful class of jinn in Islamic tradition — beings of the sea, associated with the deep ocean, storms, and the granting of wishes at terrible cost. The classic genie of the Arabian Nights.

Ifrit
One of the most powerful classes of jinn in Islamic and pre-Islamic Arab tradition — a fire-born being of immense strength and cunning, capable of great works of engineering and terrible violence.

Daksha
Daksha (Sanskrit: दक्ष) is a mythic Prajapati and creator-agent in Hindu textual tradition, remembered as a progenitor who presides over yajna and begets lineages. He appears in Vedic, Itihasa, and Puranic sources as a ritual expert and patriarch whose actions in the Daksha yajna narrative produce major mythic consequences (Sati's self-immolation, Shiva's wrath, origin of Shakti Peethas).
