Origin
The Valþjófsstaður Door is a medieval wooden door located in the National Museum of Iceland. The narrative it tells is based on a version of the Lion-Knight legend, similar to Yvain, the Knight of the Lion and other Icelandic chivalric sagas.
Appearance
The door depicts scenes from the Lion-Knight legend, including a knight slaying a dragon and freeing a lion that becomes his loyal companion.
