Origin

In Marvel Comics continuity, the Anti‑Venom symbiote first appears in The Amazing Spider-Man #569 (August 2008). In the Eddie Brock account, remnants of the Venom symbiote in Brock's body merged with his antibodies — antibodies that had been enhanced by Martin Li's Lightforce energy — and when a Venom symbiote attempted to reunite with Brock this process yielded the white Anti‑Venom symbiote. A separate incarnation (often called Agent Anti‑Venom) arises in storylines involving Life Foundation experimentation in which chemical treatment altered an existing symbiote, producing a white appearance and new abilities before bonding with Flash Thompson.

Appearance

Sources describe Anti‑Venom as having white 'skin' with contrasting dark portions and a large spider symbol across the chest. Media depictions emphasize a white-colored symbiotic form distinct from Venom's typical black appearance; specific visual details vary by incarnation and artistic representation.

Abilities

Comic‑book accounts attribute to Anti‑Venom-enhanced hosts superhuman strength, durability, and stamina; an accelerated healing factor; genetic memory; detection of symbiote offspring; wall‑crawling and web‑generation; spider‑senses and immunity to Spider‑Man's spider‑senses; and camouflage. The original Anti‑Venom is described as immune to heat- and sound-based attacks that are traditional symbiote weaknesses. It is also described narratively as capable of producing antibodies that can 'cure' afflictions such as radioactivity, parasites, diseases, and drugs; in one storyline Eddie Brock sacrifices the symbiote to cure the Spider‑Queen's spider‑virus. The Life Foundation/Agent Anti‑Venom variant is described as having additional abilities in its storyline, including enhanced healing and, in that account, intangibility.
