Iggwilv

Iggwilv was created by Gary Gygax and debuted in the adventure module The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth (1982). Gygax cited the Finnish epic Kalevala as a source of inspiration and gave Louhi (a Kalevala figure) as an alias of Iggwilv; over time published material established kinships and identity links between Iggwilv and personas named Natasha/Tasha (including the development of the spell origin story for 'Tasha's Uncontrollable Hideous Laughter'). Later publications (for example Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk and Dragon magazine editorials) revealed that Tasha and Iggwilv are the same individual and connected her to other in‑setting figures (such as an adoptive link to Baba Yaga's adopted daughter in editorial materials).
