Arkon

Arkon is presented in Marvel Comics as born of noble lineage on the extra-dimensional world Polemachus, a realm whose culture glorifies warfare. He rose to become the Imperion (ruler) of Polemachus' largest nation and its greatest warrior. Much of his narrative motivation derives from Polemachus' dependence on concentric energy rings that provide the world’s light and heat; when those rings begin to disintegrate or fail, Arkon crosses dimensions (notably to Earth) to seek technological or energetic means to restore them, sometimes by recruiting or coercing Earth scientists and resources.

Arkon is depicted as a muscular, sword-and-planet style warrior-leader whose personal physique exceeds even the already enhanced attributes common to his people. He commonly bears a shield and a set of three stylized energy bolt weapons (described in sources as golden, scarlet, and black bolts) and fights with sword-and-sorcery martial aesthetics akin to John Carter/Conan archetypes. He rides large reptilian mounts—variously bipedal, quadrupedal, and sometimes winged—that resemble dinosaur-like creatures. Visual presentation emphasizes warrior regalia and martial bearing rather than elaborate mystical iconography.

Arkon and his people possess superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, and durability; Arkon himself is said to be more highly developed than most of his race and also possesses an accelerated healing factor. He is an extraordinary hand-to-hand combatant and swordsman, a cunning military strategist, and an expert with his signature throwing energy-bolt weapons. The golden bolt is used to open gateways between dimensional planes, while the scarlet and black bolts function as offensive devices that generate powerful explosive blasts on impact. He commands armies, mounts reptilian war-beasts into battle, and conducts interdimensional campaigns—sometimes kidnapping or coercing individuals (e.g., Scarlet Witch, scientists) to further Polemachus’ needs. Narrative episodes also record periods when he is affected by an "evil madness" or memory-loss when displaced.
