Leraje

Within the European grimoire tradition (not a mythic origin tale in the sense of folkloric cosmogony), Leraje is recorded as one of the rostered spirits in compendia such as the Ars Goetia (Lesser Key of Solomon), Johann Weyer’s Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, and later demonological reference works. The texts present him as a named, ranked infernal officer — a marquis with legions under his command — rather than providing a narrative account of creation or descent.

Grimoire-derived descriptions depict Leraje as a gallant and handsome archer clad in green, carrying a bow and quiver. This archer imagery is the principal recurring visual representation recorded in the cited sources.

Grimoire summaries attribute to Leraje the power to cause great battles and disputes, to produce arrow-induced wounds that become gangrenous, and to influence lovers — making a lover come to a person or sending them away. He is also recorded as commanding thirty-three legions of demons, indicating authority to marshal subordinate spirits within the grimoire cosmology.
